18th Annual - Pinhoti 100 (Eastern United States Premier 100 Miler)

Time Limit:
100 Miler - 31 hours - you can do it!
Race Day:
Buses will depart Sylaward Trail Head (Lake Howard) 3:45am sharp.
Parking Attendants will be present to help park vehicles race morning. Please follow their
direction.
No Race Morning Check in.
PINE GLEN - LAKE HOWARD
6:00am CST – RACE START – You will need a headlamp for about the first 45 minutes
Race Starts at the Pine Glen Campground in the Choccolocco Wildlife Management area off
FS500. (For Runners who will have crews transport them to start – See directions to Start at the
end of the instructions). Race Finishes at the Sylaward Trail Head (Lake Howard).
RACE TIME
Race starts at 6:00am CST (Race Time will not FALL BACK). Set watches to not “Fall Back”
Race Time will continue from 6:00am Saturday - 1:00 pm Sunday for 31 hours.

Course Description
Course: A Point to Point Trail run starting in Heflin AL on the unmolested Pinhoti single track trail. Runners will make their way over the highest point in Alabama while navigation over rocks, through creeks and across beautiful ridge lines of the Talladega National Forest. The course will consist of 83 miles of single track, 17 miles of jeep road and 2 miles of pavement and finishing at Lake Howard on the Sylaward Trail.

Where - Sylaward Trail Head (Lake Howard) – Sylacauga AL (Google - Boat Dock Lane) - GPS
coordinates may take you to the wrong location.
You will receive your Bib #, Crew Display Card for odd/even (if you have crew) - one per runner
Drop Bag drop off. Drop bags are accepted at Packet Pick Up only.
Crew Passes for Cheaha State Park - must be paid in advance. Bring cash. You will receive a
pass to give to the gate attendee. The gate attendee will switch our pass for a Day Pass as you
enter the park. This prevents the attendee from having to go get change for each vehicle. Cheaha
State Park will receive all monies from the passes.
$5 per Adult (age 12+)
$2 per Child (age 4 to 11)
$2 per Senior (age 62+)
Free for ages 3 & under
All Active Military, Retired Military, and Veterans are Free

# and your packet.
Pasta Dinner - 5:00pm - 7:00pm CST
Meals are included for registered runners.
Extra Meal Tickets can be purchased for $10 each while supplies last

Parking at the Start/Finish Line:
Start Line Parking:
ODD# Vehicles will continue past the 4-way intersection and line up on right side of FS 531
EVEN# Vehicles will turn left onto FS500 and line up on right side of road
Exit vehicle and walk back to Four Way and continue downhill .5 miles to Pine Glen Camp (Race Start)
No cars are to drive down to the Start Line at Pine Glen Campground.
Finish Line Parking:
Parking attendants will direct you race morning to the designated parking areas.
Crews who arrive back to Sylaward at a later time during the race, follow the signage to the designated parking areas.
Restrooms:
Restrooms will be available at the race Start, downtown Heflin, Cheaha State Park Store, Lake Cheaha (Aid 7), Adam's Gap (Aid 10) - Porta Johns , Porter's Gap (Aid 13) - Porta Johns & the Finish Line.
Race Day Weather Conditions:
Expect any type of weather. Be prepared for any race conditions. The race has never been canceled due to weather conditions.

There will be no refunds, no race day registration, and no race entry transfers to another runner and no deferrals.We will offer partial refunds until and no later than June 1st - (50%). And 30% after June 1st until Aug 1st.
The following are not allowed on course… any stroller, animals, bicycles, or unentered runners. Please keep all pets at least 50 feet from aid stations, start/finish line areas.
Hotels within 15 min of the Finish Line.
Camping is available at the Finish Line (Lake Howard, 1 Boat Dock Lane, Sylacauga, AL 35150).
$10 donation to Lake Howard - Primitive Camping, Bathrooms are available, no showers.
