DO HARD THINGS

Intro

Push Your Limits - The Freedom 50 Ultramarathon isn't just a race; it's a profound test of unwavering endurance and mental grit. Covering 50 relentless miles (with a challenging 50k option), this paved journey along the scenic Foothills Trail from Puyallup towards the edge of Enumclaw demands respect.

While the terrain offers minimal elevation change, the sheer distance and the unforgiving nature of an ultramarathon will push you far beyond your comfort zone as you traverse mile after mile of this iconic pathway. With 15 hours to conquer the miles of the Foothills Trail, every step will be a testament to your determination and the spirit of perseverance.

Prepare to confront your physical and mental boundaries in this ultimate celebration of human endurance this Memorial Day weekend.

Whether you’re aiming to complete your first ultramarathon or striving for a personal record, the Freedom 50 offers a supportive and scenic environment and ultramarathon distances to challenge your limits and celebrate the spirit of running.

50 Mile

50 Miles - The Ultimate Foothills Challenge: The 50 Mile course will test the very limits of your endurance. Starting alongside the 50k runners in downtown Puyallup, you'll venture deep into the most scenic sections of the Foothills Trail, pushing onward to the edge of Enumclaw. This extended route offers the unique opportunity to traverse the stunning new White River bridge, the newest feature of this iconic pathway.

Throughout your journey, you'll encounter our strategically placed aid stations a total of eight times (plus the final one at the finish line), ensuring you remain fueled and hydrated as you conquer the miles. On the way out, the final aid station awaits you at the Veterans Monument in Memorial Park, Buckley, marking a significant point on your journey.

The first half of the course presents a subtle, gradual ascent, a deceptive challenge that will test your pacing and resolve. However, the return leg offers a welcome reward: a gentle, almost imperceptible decline that can propel you towards a strong finish back in downtown Puyallup.

This 50-mile endeavor is not just a race; it's an immersive experience along a beautiful trail, a true testament to your unwavering determination and the spirit of ultramarathon running. Prepare to embrace the challenge and achieve an unforgettable accomplishment.

50k

Take on the 50k Challenge: For those seeking a substantial test of endurance, the Freedom 50 also offers a compelling 50k option. This demanding 31-mile journey follows the fast, flat, and scenic Foothills Trail from the heart of Puyallup towards South Prairie while still providing a formidable test of endurance and resolve. The 50K option shares the same course of its longer counterpart and still demands respect. The course offers a true ultramarathon experience for those seeking a substantial but perhaps less daunting endeavor than the 50 miler.

Prepare to push your limits and experience the rewarding accomplishment of conquering this challenging distance along a fast and scenic route.

There will be two fully stocked aid stations along the way out and two again along the way back to the finish. This is a great course to accomplish your first Ultramarathon or improve upon your previous best 50k pace.
