Important information
You can set up a 10x10 canopy along the designated tent city area, which is a few feet away from the start/finish. NO CAMPING TENTS. CANOPIES ONLY. You can cover the sides of your canopy with tarp though. There are power outlets in the tent city area that you may use. They will be first come, first served. You may begin setting your canopy up the day of the race at 5 a.m. You may not set your canopy up anywhere other than the designated tent city area, which is the grassy area northwest of the corner of Farrow Parkway and Nevers Street. It shows up on Google Maps as Veterans Victory Walk. It is directly across Farrow Parkway from Orvis.
Packet pickup is 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Crabtree Memorial Gym, 1004 Crabtree Lane, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. You can also pick your packet up race morning at the start/finish between 6 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.
There is no parking directly on the course, but if you want to crew yourself out of your car, it is possible if you park in one of the street parking spaces along Farrow Parkway as close to the course as possible. If you do this, you will have to exit the course momentarily and cross the street. Please be cautious when doing this, and make sure you return to the exact same spot you came from when you re-enter the course.
If you do not need to crew yourself out of your car, the best place for you to park is the parking lot at the end of Forbus Ct. There is no physical address for this parking lot. To reach it, you should type “Forbus Ct Myrtle Beach” into your GPS app of choice, and it’ll take you to the road. You just have to drive to the end of the road, and you’ll see the parking lot on the left. From the lot, it is about a 0.2 mile walk to the designated tent city area where you can set up your canopy, tables, chairs, etc.
There is additional on-street parking along several roads in The Market Common area like Nevers Street, Hackler Street, Howard Avenue and more if you need it.
The race will most likely be cold, but you never truly know with Myrtle Beach. Highs can be as high as the 60s this time of year and as low as the 30s or 40s on very cold days.
The course is one of the most popular loops for walkers and joggers in the city to use, and the course will NOT be closed to the public on race day, so you will see people who are not racing using the loop. Please treat them with respect.
The course
The course is a 1.1 mile paved loop. The start/finish is at the common area directly across the street from Valor Memorial Garden. After starting, runners will veer slightly left then slightly right onto the multipurpose path. They will go .07 miles through the designated tent city area then make a slight left, where they will run parallel to Farrow Parkway for .27 miles. Runners will then make a 90 degree left turn on the path just before Forbus Ct. The next turn will be a left turn at the .92 mile mark. Runners will then almost immediately veer left to stay on the side of the multipurpose path closest to the lake before making their way back to the start/finish.
Here is a Strava link for the course: https://www.strava.com/activities/12686960785
There will be directional signs that will make it close to impossible to get lost and portapotties on the course for your bathroom needs.
Aid station
There will be an aid station set up in the same area as the start/finish. It will feature typical ultra food like chips, candy, etc. as well as water and electrolyte drinks and hot food. If you have a preference for certain foods you want to be featured at the aid station, please email us to let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate.
Timing
This race will use chip timers. You will have a chip on the back of your bib. There will be a live leaderboard on display that will update in real time as you cross the start/finish so you know where you stand on the leaderboard.
Pacers
You are allowed to have one pacer at a time after 3 p.m. Each pacer MUST sign a waiver before beginning to pace. The waivers will be at the timing tent/aid station.
Refund/deferral policy
Should you decide not to run the race, you can get a refund or defer your entry to 2027.
The area
This loop is part of The Market Common area, which used to be the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base before it closed in 1993. The surrounding area features a wide variety of restaurants, retail stores and a movie theater, so we strongly encourage you make a trip out of it and stay for a few days before or after the race as well! It is a 12-minute drive from Myrtle Beach International Airport, and it’s Myrtle Beach, so there are tons of hotels and AirBnbs/VRBOs to choose from that are very close to the race location.
