Las Vegas' Premier Mother's Day Celebration Returns With So Much More

The 4th Annual Bee-utiful Sunflower Run/Walk returns to Gilcrease Orchard with a heavy dose of enhancements. There will now be 5 free professional photo-op locations, including 3 in the Sunflower Fairy Field. In addition to everyone's favorite sunflower fairy triplets living in the field, the Orchard is now home to 2 new adopted fairies. To make the day as memorable as possible for all, the events have been spread-out with an early 5K & 10K at 6:30 AM and an exclusive 5K only at 8:00 AM. The Sunflower Fairy Walk is now at 9:00 AM and very family friendly with 2 full hours to enjoy the experience without runners. Plenty of time for kiddos of all ages and families to hangout with the 5 fairies, take lots of pictures & make a free sunflower craft gift for mom. Of course, runners are welcome to linger around after their race and enjoy the sunflower fields. Great format option for mom to register and enjoy a solo run before joining registered family members at the Sunflower Fairy Walk. PLEASE NOTE: This is a private event and ONLY paid registrants will be admitted to Gilcrease Orchard on event day (May 11th).

4th Annual Bee-utiful Sunflower Run - An Annual Mother's Day Tradition

Even on the darkest days, sunflowers stand tall and find the sunlight. As J.R. Rim put it, “Sunflowers end up facing the sun, but they go through a lot of dirt to find their way.” Beyond Limits Running is proud to present the 4th Annual Bee-utiful Sunflower Run/Walk on Sunday, May 11, 2025 at the iconic 100-year-old Gilcrease Orchard.

The event, which consists of a 5K at 8:00 AM or 6:30 AM, 10K at 6:30 AM and a Sunflower Family Walk at 9:00 AM, takes place just as the course-side sunflowers are in full bloom at the Orchard. In addition to receiving a glossy sunflower themed finisher's medal when crossing through a massive sunflower themed finishing arch, everyone receives a large fresh cut sunflower, a starter packet of sunflower seeds, a sunflower bumper sticker, sunflower tattoos and a sunflower fairy charm.

There will be 5 professional photo-op stations, including 2 new photo-op display stations in the Sunflower Fairy Field, 2 mid-course action shot locations and a family portrait station. Downloads of all professional race photos are free & distributed same day!

The timing is perfect as you can present mom or grandma a freshly cut massive sunflower on Mother’s Day. To ensure an exceptional and memorable “course congested free experience" for everyone, including runners, walkers and stroller pushing mommies, events no longer overlap.

Besides running and walking amongst massive rows of smiling sunflowers, you’ll also run past apples, pears, peaches, cucumbers, sweet potato, squash, eggplant and of course the famous Gilcrease Orchard pumpkins as they start their journey towards Halloween. Since the 3.1 mile flat and fast course meanders through the entire 67-acre orchard, runners and walkers will have a chance to get say hello to the resident chickens, tortoises, bees and owls without worrying about traffic or public interference.

Sunflower Fairy Walk (9:00 AM - 11:00 AM)

The Sunflower Family Walk is designed for the whole family to enjoy, including kids of all ages, parents and grandparents. The Walk is stroller and wheelchair friendly.

All Walk participants receive a sunflower themed Mother’s Day medal, a large fresh cut sunflower, a starter packet of sunflower seeds, a sunflower bumper sticker, sunflower tattoos and a sunflower fairy charm. PLUS, kiddos will have an opportunity to visit the sunflower craft area and make a free special sunflower Mother’s Day craft for mom, grandma, or someone special. All 5 professional photo-op stations, with free digital downlands, will be open until closing at 11:00 AM.

Kids UNDER the age of 4 at the time of the race are free WITH a paid registrant. Registered 5K and 10K running moms and/or dads are free to join their families who are registered for the Walk as part of their 5K/10K registrations. Of course, dads, grandparents or anyone who likes sunflowers and sunflower fairies, can sign-up for the Walk. PLEASE NOTE: Running is not allowed during the Walk. Kiddos who want to run should register for the 5K or 10K.
