20th Annual - The Race to the Top of Alabama
The Mt. Cheaha 50K UltraMarathon Race is a point-to-point trail run that finishes in the Cheaha State Park at the summit of Cheaha Mountain. At 2,407 feet this is the highest point in Alabama. Along the run you will experience scenic overlooks, creek crossings, lakes, water falls, hardwood and pine forests. 80% of the course is run on beautiful single track trails winding throughout the Talladega National Forest.
Packet Pick up:
Friday, February 21st, Coldwater Brewpub downtown Anniston from 3:00 - 7:00pm
They have amazing food and would be a great option for your prerace meal!!!
Packet Pick up will also be race morning starting at 6:30 - 7:15am
Saturday, February 22nd, Race Start from approx. 6:30a.m. till 7:15a.m.

Bus Transportation and Race Finish Parking:
Bus Transportation will depart from Cheaha State Park overflow parking at 6:05 am
CST SHARP! Parking Attendants will be present to help park vehicles race morning. Please follow signs & their direction.
Runner Check In:
Runners must check in no later than 7:15 a.m. CST, Saturday morning at the Porters Gap Trail Head off Hwy 77E (Race Start Area). Check-in is required. Packet pick up will be available during this time as well.
You must also sign the Cheaha St Pk wavier this year. This can be done Saturday morning if you don’t pick up Friday.
Parking at Race Start:
Parking is very limited at the race start. The Talladega County Sheriff’s Department will be patrolling the west bound and east bound lanes of Hwy 77 for your protection. For those of you who are having someone bring you to the race start you may have to park on the side of the highway near the Porters Gap Trailhead. You must remove your car as soon as the race begins at 7:30 a.m. (CST). Due to the small area at the Porters Gap Trailhead we will be utilizing most of this area for pre-race activities.
Restrooms:
At the race Start there will be available for your convenience three porta potties to relieve those last minute butterflies!!!

Welcome to the 20th Annual Mount Cheaha 50K!!! Are you Tough enough? This is truly a beautiful course with everything a trail junkie could ask for in an Ultra Marathon!

Along the run you will experience scenic overlooks, creek crossings, lakes, waterfalls, hardwood and pine forests. 80% of the course is run on beautiful single-track trails on the Pinhoti Trail, Skyway Trail & Silent Trail winding throughout the Talladega National Forest.

Friday Februay 21st PACKET PICK UP - 3:00pm - 7:00pm CST
Where - Cold Water Mountain Brewery – Anniston AL
You will receive your Bib #, sticker & tshirt (please do not fold the RFID chip on the back of the bib).
Additional Swag will be available for purchase
Crew Passes for Cheaha State Park - must be paid in advance. Bring cash. You will receive a pass to give to the gate attendee. The gate attendee will switch our pass for a State Park Day Pass as you enter the park. This prevents the attendee from having to go get change for each vehicle. Cheaha State
Park will receive all monies from the passes.
$5 per Adult (age 12+)
$2 per Child (age 4 to 11)
$2 per Senior (age 62+)
Free for ages 3 & under
All Active Military, Retired Military, and Veterans are Free
You can not pick up Bib # or packets for any other runner. You must show ID to receive you Bib # and your packet.
Cold Water Mountain Brewery has a full menu. Have your pre-race dinner at the brewery and show them some support.
Pre-Race Briefing - 5:30pm - out back on patio (weather permitting) (You are not required to stay for the briefing)
BUSES - $15.00 bus transportation (If you need transportation from Cheaha State Park to the Start Line) - may be purchased in advance online at the time of registration, OR, log into Ultrasignup, click “Store” and order a bus ticket there.
