Event Details
Let's have some "Socially Distanced" Fun. Due to COVID-19, the majority of us have had events cancelled or postponed. Many places have been closed and social gatherings have been discouraged. However, it is important for us to remain fit and connected. Outdoor recreation has been shown to help prevent depression and improve mental health. We are able to participate in recreational activities, while also following all CDC guidelines developed to reduce the spread of this virus. The goal of this event is to promote physical and mental health during this time and to also give to a charitable cause to assit those affected by COVID-19. A recent article written about Dr. Fauci reported that he continues his daily 3.5 Mile Run, even while working 19 hours a day during this pandemic. Which is why we came up with the distance for this "socially distanced" run. From April 12-April 30 (19 days) you record a run of 3.5 miles. DURING YOUR RUN/WALK WE URGE YOU TO FOLLOW ALL CDC RECOMMENDATIONS WHILE RUNNING/WALKING. DO NOT GO OUT IF YOU ARE SICK OR HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO COVID-19. DO NOT RUN/WALK IN GROUPS AND KEEP A MINIMUM 6 FEET OF SEPARATION BETWEEN YOU AND OTHERS. We will not have a gathering of runners and each runner will be required to self-report their times. You can run any where, in which it is permitted, at any time and as many times as you want and log your best time. We do ask that participants post a picture of their watch, STRAVA, GARMIN, etc. data on our event page. The registration fee is $10 and that registration fee will be used towards a charity and towards gift certificates for OA and division winners as well as a couple random drawing prizes. The charitable cause we have chosen is Think SEMO Feed the Front Line Initiative. 100% of the funds they receive are going to purchase meals for essential workers at our hospitals and those on the front line fight against COVID-19 here in Southeast Missouri. You may purchase an event T-Shirt for an additional $15 cost and it will be shipped to your address. We are not doing medals or any other SWAG with this event. ONLINE REGISTRATION ONLY.

OA Winners and Age Group Winners will receive gift certificates to Missouri Running Co.
Age Groups are as follows 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+
The amount of the gift certificate depends on the number of participants. For Example if 50 people register to participate $250 will go to Think SEMO, to help their Feed the Front Line Initiative providing meals for hospital workers and those on the front line fighting COVID-19 in Southeast Missouri. The other $250 will be divided into gift certificates, with the OA Male and Female receiving a gift certificate of $25 and division winners receiving gift certificates of $12.50 and a random drawing for a $50 gift certificate.
The more participants the greater the donation and the larger the GC.
