Lace up your running shoes and join us for our annual Run with the Bears event set against the stunning backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains! This year, we're kicking things off at The Summit — our highest point on property — offering runners unforgettable panoramic views from the start line.
Whether you're tackling the 5K or keeping it light with the 1-Mile Fun Run, you'll be met with a dynamic course filled with fresh spring air, blossoming trees, and over 91 miles of mountainous vistas stretching from Clingman's Dome to Rockyface Mountain.
New this year is the Run with the Bears: Extreme Vertical Pursuit — a no-joke elevation challenge designed for our most fearless participants. With nearly 1,000 feet of elevation gain in the 5K, this course demands grit, endurance, and a love for the uphill battle. If you're ready to climb, sweat, and conquer the mountainside, this challenge is calling your name.

The Run with the Bears experience kicks off at The Summit, the highest point on property, and winds through Bear Lake Reserve’s scenic nine-hole golf course. Expect stunning views — and serious climbs — with a leg-burning 954 feet of elevation gain during the 5K.
This year’s event includes two race options:
5K – A dynamic, moderately challenging route.
1-Mile Fun Run – Perfect for families and young runners.
All races finish back at The Summit, where participants will receive a commemorative “Run with the Bears” water bottle and can cheer on fellow racers while enjoying mountain views.
