The Event
The KES Champ's Cape Crusade 5K Run/Walk and 1-Mile Fun Run is being organized by Knightsville Elementary School with the guidance, support, and advice of Sunrise Running Company.
The event proceeds will benefit a KES Family in need.
T-SHIRTs ORDER WENT IN WITH THE PRINTERS ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 20TH. ANYONE REGISTERING AFTER APRIL 20TH IS NOT GUARANTEED AN EVENT SHIRT. IF WE HAVE EXTRA SHIRTS ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT, WE WILL DISTRIBUTE SHIRTS TO PRE-REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE EVENT. THIS IS A CHARITY RUN AND AN ADDITIONAL SHIRT ORDER WILL NOT BE PLACED.
5K Run/Walk:
The race course will take participants through the White Gables Neighborhood on a USATF Certified 5K loop.
•There will be one water stop along the course (located at 1.5-mile marker).
•All pre-registered 5K participants will receive an official finish time and event shirt (shirts guaranteed by registering before April 20th).
•Fleet Feet Sports Gift Cards for the Top 5 Male and Female Finishers.
•Age Group Results will be posted after the event on UltraSignup.
•Awards for best costume will be judged at each mile marker.
1-Mile Fun Run
Fun run will be a loop through White Gables Neighborhood.
•There will not be timing offered for this event.
•All pre-registered 1-Mile participants will receive an official event shirt (shirts guaranteed by register before April 20th).
•Awards for best costume.
Packet Pickup
Friday, April 29th - Fleet Feet Summerville (117 E Richardson Ave, Summerville, SC 29483) from 12:00-6:00 PM
Saturday, April 30th at White Gables Clubhouse from 6:30-7:35 AM.
Rules & Regulations
- Starting Time is 8:00 AM for the 5K and 9:00 AM for the 1-Mile Fun Run
- Race shirts are only guaranteed to those participants who register before end of day Wednesday, April 20th, 2016.
- On-site registrations will NOT be taken.
- Participant bib numbers: Please wear the number on the front of your shirt. You may not be given a time if you bib number is not visible when crossing the finish line.
- Arguing with the Race Director OR a volunteer is not tolerated at all. You will be DISQUALIFIED from the event if you argue with the RD or a volunteer. You must obey race personnel and officials at all times.
- No wheeled or mechanized support
- Participants must stay on marked course
- Must only receive aid (aside from teammate) at designated aid stations
- Absolutely no littering
- Participants must conduct themselves in a civil and sportsperson-like manner
- Timing is kept using either an iPad or Android tablet, with related software. These events are not chip timed.
Sunrise Running Company
Sunrise Running Company is a local coaching/event based business that is assisting Knightsville Elementary School in the participant registration, course setup, and timing of the event.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
- Under no circumstance will refunds be issued.
- Registrations be transferred to another person or transferred to a later date. Transfers MUST be done prior to online registration closing on Wednesday, April 27th, 2016. No exceptions will be made for transfers after this date.
- If for any reason the event has to be shut down due to extreme weather and or disaster, you will be pulled from the course or held at an aid station until you can be removed from the course. Please, no arguing if this should happen. It is for your own safety.
