Don't Be a Fool And Miss It! Are You Fool Enough To Run It?
The beautiful and challenging 50 mile course follows 3 repeat loops on the Croom Hiking Trail through central Florida’s long leaf pines and scrub oak covered hills, past creek bottoms and cypress ponds. There will be a 8:00pm cut off. The 50K race will follow the same course with 2 repeat loops and the 15 Mile Race is one loop. This is a wonderful course at a great time of the year for running - you don't want to miss this race.
29 Years and Still Going Strong
This will be the 29th Annual Croom Fools Runs. Full-Color Tech T-shirts have been added this year, as have top-finisher awards for each of the races. The race field will be limited to 250 so make sure you register soon.
The Fools Run Races
There are 3 races that are part of the Fools Run Races - 50 Mile Fools Run, 50K I'm Not A Fool Run, and John Holmes 16 Mile Run. The main running trail is a 16 Mile loop. The 50 Mile race does 3 loops, the 50K does 2 loops, and the 16 Mile does 1 loop.
Water Stops / Aid Stations
There will be 3 water stops / aid stations along the loop and 16 Mile runners will have 3 water stops. 50 Mile runners with 3 loops will have 12 water stops / aid stations and. 50K runners with 2 loops will have 8 water stops / aid stations. Since this is a loop course, runners of the 50M/50K will have a chance to go through the main staging area during the race and can access drop bags. The aid stations will have water, sports drink, gels, and some food, but understand that this is a trail run and there will not be stops every mile. Pre-Race
Race packets can be picked up from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Friday night before the race. The packet pickup will be at the same location as the start/finish of race at Tucker Hill. You will also be able to pick up the race packets the morning of the race if you are unable to make it Friday night. The race has a total limit of 250 runners and a limit of 125 16M runners.
Awards & Shirts
Full-Color T-Shirts
All pre-registered runners will receive a full-color short-sleeved TECH shirt. Don't wait to register because registration stops at 250.
Finisher Awards
Finisher awards will be given to every participant. Overall & Masters Male & Female will also be awarded for each distance.
Great Food
The picnic includes burgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, chips, fruit, and cookies.
