WHY THE RIB MOUNTAIN TRAIL RACES?
Rib Mountain is a beauty to behold any season of the year. Whether you call it home, or if you are just passing through, you can’t help but admire this glacially eroded creation. But why observe from a distance what you can experience through all your senses. Welcome to Rib Mountain Trail Races.
What better way to discover than to dive right in the twists and climbs, running under a bounty of colored hardwoods on the gorgeous trails of Rib Mountain.

COURSE
The 50k is comprised of 3 loops on an approximately 10.5 mile course with an elevation gain of over 7,000 feet. 25k runners will do 1.5 loops and the 15k runners will do 1 loop which has an elevation gain of over 2000 feet. Gear bags will be delivered to the top aid station at mile 5 if needed. Racers will be challenged with plenty of climbing and technical single track. - so be sure to prepare for the ups and downs. Runners will start and finish at the bottom of the Granite Peak Ski Area. Two aid stations and 2 water stations along the route will support runners. This course provides trail runners a true trail challenge with highlights of Rib Mountain State Park. Stay tuned for course map and description coming soon.
FINISH LINE FESTIVITIES
The well deserved post race party will be held at Granite Peak Ski Area. Family, friends, food, music, and most importantly, beer (Red Eye local craft brews) are there to congratulate you, an RMTR finisher. All racers & volunteers receive a free meal & drink and spectators may purchase onsite. Be sure to check out our merchandise while you are there.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
5:00 - 6:30 am: Packet pick up for 50k & 25k racers
7:00 am: 50k & 25k start - runners to assemble at start area 15 min prior to start time
11:00 am - 12:30 pm: Packet pick up for 15k racers
11:30 am - 12:00 pm Kocourek Kids Run registration
12:15 pm Kocourek Kids Run start
12:35 pm Kocourek Kids Run end
1 pm: 15k wave start - runners to assemble at start area 15 min prior to start time
11:30 - 4:30 pm: Food available for racers and spectators (we will box up extra meals for racers still on course)
6:30 pm: Course close
KOCOUREK KIDS RUN
Free to all kids! Run up a section of the ski hill approximately 3/4 mile loop. Parents are welcome to run with their kids. All kids earn a finisher medal, free item, and kids meal and drink following the run. Sign up at: https://www.ironbull.org/kids-run. 11:30 am to 12 pm kids run bib pickup, 12:15 pm kids run start.
