About Big Dog's Backyard Ultra
The third Saturday in October, 2025 will see the best backyard athletes in the world once again converge on the Big Trail near Bell Buckle, Tennessee to throw down in the Individual World Backyard Ultra Championships.
All participants will have qualified by either winning their national Championship in October of 2024, or placing among the top At-Large performers over the last two years.
The qualifying period does not end until August 15, 2025, and there are still hundreds of qualifying events to be held around the world between now and then.

All athletes who have qualified by winning their national Championships during the 2024 Team Championships will be accepted at this time.
The qualifying period will end on August All the results are supposed to be turned in and entered within a week of that date, at which point the At-large list will be final, and all the qualified athletes will be accepted.
We will confirm any qualified athletes who do not apply, to determine their intentions so that we can make a place available to the next alternate in line.
As the time period for qualifying shrinks, we may make places available to At-Large athletes who have tallied a large enough number of yards that they are assured of not being "bumped" from the qualifying field. At this time we will accept applications from athletes who have equaled or exceeded 100 hours.
