5.1.25 UPDATE
A little RATTLE-NEWS. IMPORTANT!
After working with US Forest Service for almost 2 years on this and them having me get all other permits and make changes to a number of things, they've decided due to recent budget cuts and key people retiring that they're just not going to get around to permitting new races (even though they said they would) They said in any other year, it would be fine. Rattlesnake bite in the buttocks!!!
They did say that we could run as a "group run" if it's under 75 people and accept money to donate to a cause....SOOO that's what we're gonna do! "Group Run" will go on as normal. Live GPS tracking, aid stations, belt buckles. . .you name it. I just have to be clear that this is a "GROUP RUN" and you're voluntarily signing up to donate any remaining money to either Trails Foundation of Northern Utah or divide it up to give to high school XC programs in Weber County.
Other important updates is that because it's a group run, I'm nixing the 8 hour trail work requirement and doing a prior 100 or 50 miler. I'm not sure if I'll get to editing that out of the website and all that but for 2025, there won't be that requirement. You still should get out and do some trail work. It's REALLY needed. . .especially with all the other cuts to USFS.
Some other potential issues is we might have to go longer distances between aid stations (nixing AS3, AS7, AS9&11) as those are on forest service and Snow Basin property. There's a good deal of water to filter from between AS2 and 3 so I'll talk to Hydrapak about including an in bottle water filter for y'all to use. I've drank from all of those water sources a number of times and never had an issue.
It's still going to be an amazing year! We'll still have free camping at the finish all weekend. Might even make some exceptions to the 36 hour cutoff if we're gonna be hanging out all weekend anyway!
Any questions/comments. . .direct them my way jeremy@enjoythejourneyevents.com

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT:
THE TRAVEL REVIEW: we will be giving away 2 different 1 week paid vacation lodging booked through the travel review. They have thousands of locations throughout the world that you can pick from. Essentially you'd give the location and dates you'd want to travel and they'll show you what's available. THIS IS FOR LODGING ONLY. Travel to/from location is still your responsibility.
Trail work: As trails thaw out, we will have options for trail work through the US forest service, Ogden Trail Network, Trails Foundation of Northern Utah and Weber State University.
Crewing
Crews will be allowed, will just need to follow race rules or will subject their runner to possible disqualification. First aid to pick up a pacer is at Green Pond (mile 33.4). Some of the aid stations have little to no parking so there are holding areas for crew until runner gets close to aid. There will be live GPS tracking so that will make runners easier to find.
Registration
Registration will open on 12/3 and go til filled. Wait list if necessary.
